Heart blisters

Sometimes I wish

I’m a grain of sand

In the middle of a desert

Sometimes I wish

I’m a drop of water

In an endless span of sea

I wish

I’m just a flower

In an earth-sized bouquet

I wish

I’m just a key

On an eternity long piano

But at such times when I wish

Reality downs on me…

That I am sand-in fire

Water drying up in a desert

A flower withering before the sun

And a minor key strung for a mournful song
